Ellesmere Carnival
Saturday 19th August 2023
Every year Ellesmere holds it’s annual carnival. Thanks to a hard working Carnival committee the annual event continues to go from strength to strength. For a small Town the day is a fabulous success and continues to draw large crowds.
The Parade kicks off at 12 noon when the roads in the centre of Ellesmere are closed to traffic and the Parade does two circuits of the Town streets. Full of Bands, Floats and individuals dressed in costume and many old vehicles so the carnival gets off to a fantastic start.
The parade is normally led by the Fire Brigade and betweeen the floats there are various bands and marching groups, the streets of Ellesmere are lined with people all getting a good view of Parade.
The Carnival carries on down to the Cremorne Gardens where there are various stalls and refreshment tents. The stalls open in the Cremorne Gardens at 10am.
There are various stalls including craft, gifts, charity and beauty. There are also Food Stalls and a Bar.
Parade bands and groups will be performing from 1pm.
Live band from 5pm & DEEJAY from 6pm to 10pm
Donations from carnival-goers on the day go towards raising funds for future carnival and music events, to make sure that the carnival tradition continues for years to come.
